Abstract

This article presents the results of a qualitative research that aimed to analyze the perceptions of the teaching staff and the management team in a state secondary school in Tierra del Fuego, in order to identify obstacles that affect the school atmosphere, understood as a set of normative and axiological aspects in institutional coexistence.   Concerning the methodology, an ethnographic approach was applied; and field work consisted of conducting interviews during the year 2021 with the following dimensions: communication, leadership, motivation, work commitment, and interpersonal relationships. It was complemented with the collection of quantitative data (absenteeism, licenses, and vacant hours, supplementary or suitable tit- les) from the school's computer database. As a result, negative perceptions about the school atmosphere of the studied school predominate, with a greater presence among teachers than in the management team.
