This text discusses the “Gráfica Íchjín t´sen: archivo abierto” project, an exhibition-archive held at the Casa del Tiempo Cultural Center of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) in Mexico City. The initiative brought together Mazatec women from the Sierra of Oaxaca and allied artists/activists from Mexico City creating over 100 linocut prints on paper and cotton fabric. It features a three-voice dialogue between a Mazatec woman activist and two graphic artists (including a cultural manager) addressing key questions such as: the relevance of the project’s archival approach; how art and life struggles intersect in contemporary contexts; the political/artistic implications of such initiatives; and curatorial and museological processes within academic frameworks. The collaboration underscores community-driven art as a means of amplifying marginalized voices through accessible, material-based storytelling.
