Abstract

Ecuador has advanced legislation with which old age and elderly are reconceptualized as Older adults. Thus, Ecuador works with the term "Adulto mayor" as an active citizen. All of this within a comprehensive Life Cycle (Intergenerationality), which also includes gender mainstreaming, empowerment and plurality. In addition, Ecuador has a decentralized the administration of territory, which assists the elderly population as a priority care group, ensuring this policy participation. However, Older adults have little social importance, and their historical contribution to national and world heritage is not mentiond in reference to the historic enlargement of the agricultural border. Our work seeks to value the contribution in a provincial case, generating a debate on the debt and the importance of the implementation of Public policies.
