This essay is the result, to a large extent, of our historical pre- sent, particularly as of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is analysed from the perspective of historical sociology; we intend to explain the notion of time in societies; covering a wide range of situations ranging from: work, entertainment, the media, and surveillance and control policies, among others. These situations are varied images of the same issue-problem: how capitalist societies endure a pandemic.
