Student Participation in the Election of the Director in a University schools

Abstract

This article aims to investigate student participation in a secondary school dependent on the National University of Rosario in their first experience of direct election of the Director. Within the framework of said electoral process, this research becomes relevant and tries to inquire about the meanings and assessments of young people about the possibility of voting for school authorities, their relations with said authorities, the role of their student government association, as well as their expectations and tensions regarding the electoral process, as a strategy to approach the understanding of contemporary forms of citizenship construction. This research was carried out based on non-participant observation and interviews with different actors during the process (students, authorities, teachers and graduates).
